"It is true, the spoken word enlightens both the spirit and the soul. Indeed, the HENDRICK’S Master Distiller can often be heard talking at length to her ‘two little sweeties’ – the delightful and peculiarly small copper pot stills from which the most unusual gin flows."

 THE LIGHT AND SHADOW PARLOUR
Presents Visual Arts and the Moving Image

Wednesday the 6th April 2011
Doors at 6 pm, Show commences at 7 pm

Come and explore the relationship between the moving image and other disciplines within the Visual Arts, looking at ways in which film is used by artists who work predominantly in a field other than film, and how narrative is explored within the parameters of the moving image vs 2D representation and live art.

We will be looking at filmmakers who have an unorthodox approach to narrative within filmmaking, who have a background in the fine arts and who use this sensibility/training to carve out an idiosyncratic approach to film.
Also, artists from other visual art disciplines that experiment with film, video and animation.

Programme will include moving image work by:
CHIARA AMBROSIO
ZAELIA BISHOP
FELTUS BROTHERS
IVAN & IGOR BUHAROV
ALINE HELMKE
HELENA HUNTER
JAMIE QUANTRILL
SARA PREIBSCH
